How to deliver floor plans with property photography
A floor plan can be a small file with a large operational consequence. When it is treated as an attachment to remember later, a photo package can be sent while part of the order is still missing.

QUICK ANSWER
Deliver a floor plan as its own tracked item inside the property order. Confirm the requested output and any client instructions, review the plan against the correct job, approve an identifiable version, and include it in a clearly labeled package with the property photos. The overall job is ready only when every required item is approved or an exception is explicitly agreed.
Create a separate deliverable state
Keep the floor plan connected to the same property job as the photos, but track its production, review and approval independently. Record the expected output and current owner rather than using the photo status as a proxy.
This lets the coordinator see that photos are approved while the plan is still being corrected, without marking the whole order complete.
| Floor-plan state | Meaning | Next owner |
|---|---|---|
| Expected | Included in the confirmed order | Production coordinator |
| In production | Required inputs are being processed | Assigned producer |
| In review | Proposed output is ready to inspect | Reviewer |
| Approved | Accepted version can enter delivery | Delivery owner |
Review the plan in the job context
Verify property identity, requested scope, visible labels, page or level completeness and the agreed output format. Use the studio’s approved floor-plan review standard and escalate uncertain property facts instead of guessing.
Keep the exact reviewed version attached to the approval. A corrected file should return to review rather than silently replacing the approved record.
Package photos and plan clearly
Place the approved floor plan where the agent can find it without searching through source or working folders. Use readable labels and explain separate download groups when needed. Test that the client-facing view exposes only intended final media.
A fictional two-level property might have an approved photo set while one floor label needs correction. The delivery owner either waits or follows the studio’s agreed partial-delivery policy; they do not present the job as complete.
Close the entire order deliberately
Before sending, compare the package with the confirmed services and verify the delivery recipient and property. After sending, record the handoff and which floor-plan version was included.
If the client requests a change, reopen that deliverable, preserve the prior delivery record and approve the corrected version before replacement.
